We are moving to the farm for good.

A lot has been going on lately.  But I should start a month back until now.  Last month during that freak snow storm that hit the southwest, that is when we moved the farm truck from Texas to Arizona.  Of course whenever you plan time off work, the weather will be terrible.

This was the road in front of the farm.

It's hard to figure out the scale of this property.   A lot of what looks like bushes are actually fully grown Pinion pine and Alligator Juniper trees.

For scale that's our F150 truck next to a tree.

We had a lot of chores planned to accomplish this weekend to make our move easier.  But other than leaving the truck, the only thing we did was designate our future driveway.  We have our 911 address set up.  So encase of an emergency, gps should be able to get emergency personnel to our farm.

We can't get mail delivered here.  That isn't a big deal, there were places in San Antonio that we couldn't get mail either.  So we are already use to having a P.O.Box.  But we heard one of our neighbors gets Amazon deliveries.  I hope they do deliver, I have ordered about 60% of the stuff for our farm from Amazon.

The main reason for my delay in updating is, shortly after we returned to Texas, I was in a car accident.   Briefly, I was the third car back on a green light.  A young woman ran the red light and hit the side of my car.  Because of a dump truck next to me, I couldn't see around him to see her run the red light.  When he honked and slammed on his brakes, I had just enough time to turn my head before I  was hit.  Thankfully I had a ton of witnesses for me.  One a constable, and two others are correction officers.  Another a volunteer firefighter that convinced me to get out of my car and the street.   The driver of the dump truck.  They all sat with me until the paramedics arrived.   I know I told them all thank you a million times.   I really appreciated having the support right after the accident.

It's also nice having a constable refer to me as 007.  Even after the cop writing the report kept insisting that we use my real name.  During the accident she was parked across the street, watching traffic.  She seemed impressed that after the force of the impact was hard enough to spin my car around twice.   Causing the rear axle to brake and turn sideways on one side of my car.  The other rear tire blowing out on the other side of my car.  That I was able to drift my car sideways getting out of the intersection and sliding into the curb to avoid blocking traffic.  The only I can think of is I just don't panic under pressure.  Afterwards was a different story.  I won't lie but my knees were shaking so bad that I couldn't stand.

This is the car that hit me.

I ended up spraining my right wrist and elbow bad enough that other than short updates on Facebook, my wrist has basically been useless.  I didn't break any bones thankfully.  My MRI showed that I have two herniated and two bulging disks in my neck and spine.  Which is causing bursitis in my right shoulder and sciatica mainly in my right hip.  Sometimes all the way down my sciatic nerve.

Unfortunately I ran out of muscle relaxants about my second week since the accident.  I haven't been able to get more.  They keep promising steroids to help with the bursitis, but I  haven't had anything for almost two weeks.   So I have just substituted them for wine.  As a kid I had a perscription for wine as a muscle relaxant.  So I figure it is better than nothing.

Otherwise my medical team has been awesome for the most part.  Giving me ultrasound, e-stim, massage, assigning stretching exercises and Chiropractic adjustments.  I  know my move has messed up a lot of appointments.   Some appointments they decided to wait till I go to Arizona.   Like having me see an orthopedic specialist because they noticed some sort of chipped bone in my right shoulder.  I just wish they would control the pain in my neck and shoulder.

I replaced my Cadillac with a Jeep.  I can see how customizing it can be dangerous.  So far Will had all of the fenders, the bumpers, the steps, and the gas cap bevel sprayed with bed liner.  We are having a tow hitch installed today.  Hmm......it seems like I did this in Seattle before I left in my Dodge Magnum that I use to have.

Regular updates should start as soon as we get there.  If you have any questions or concerns about starting a self sufficient off grid farm, please let us know!

We need the tonic of wilderness...At the same time we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable.  We can never have enough of nature.
